Because of everything our world is experiencing right now, you may be “stuck at home” with your family members. Maybe you’ve played every board game in your house, maybe you’ve done on more walks than you can count, or maybe you’ve just retreated to your separate routines. While there are many negatives to this crisis, you can do your part to find positivity in activities with the whole family!
Here are a five indoor activities to bring the family together & have some fun:
Movie Debate Night: Have everyone present/share their favorite movie, why it’s superior to all other movies, and have one person be the judge! After a thorough decision-making process, the whole family can watch the #1 Movie in your household.
Family Book Club: Find a book that the whole family would enjoy & download to a device! Once a week or so, discuss characters, where you think the plot will go next, and more. This is a great activity if you enjoy peace & quiet, but also want to spend time together.
Paint and Sip: Grab your favorite drink (Shirley Temples for the kids) & find a paint-along video on Youtube! Paper and any artistic tool will do the job if you don’t have paint on deck. Think Bob Ross, but less difficult and more family fun!
Meal Madness: For a family member who loves to cook. Find a random assortment of food you have available & challenge them to create a dish with only the items you provided! This could taste horrible, but you might be surprised with their creativity & abilities!
Screen-Free Challenge: Just about everyone in the world is addicted to some form of technology. Have the whole family (other than those who work on a computer) put all the technology in a secure location and begin the challenge. Whoever can go the longest without asking to have their phone, ipad or laptop back will be the winner!
While these ideas may not be for everyone, try to find new and creative ways to get the whole family together during this quarantine. Let us know if you try any of these ideas or what you are doing to stay engaged!
