With the upcoming summer upon us and the stay-at-home order still in place, what better time than now to get outside? There are endless ways to enjoy the sunshine & outdoors while remaining socially distant, but here are a few to try for yourself!
Gardening – The Earth is going to be thanking us for the momentary pause in machine operations, but your neighborhood would thank you for building a beautiful garden in your front yard! If you already have a garden or don’t have space – find a family member or friend who would appreciate the gesture! A social-distancing gift from you to them.
Running/Walking/Biking – Exercising during this gap in time is not only good for your physical health but your mental health as well! There are even podcasts that give you timed runs with music all in one!
Playing with Pets – Many people are adopting or getting new pets to help fill the abundance of time on our hands. I have been outside with my new puppy, training him how to walk on a leash. But old dogs can certainly learn new tricks as well! Find some outdoor time with your pets – they need the fresh air just as much as you do!
Hiking – One of the many wonderful things about the state of Pennsylvania is the abundance of forests and nature preserves. Find a new nature trail & get out of the house for no cost!
Home Improvement Project – that deck you’ve always wanted to paint? Seems like you never have enough time to create the stone walkway you’ve dreamed of? Now is the perfect opportunity to let your creativity run wild. More time and nice weather all point to an exciting home improvement project to fill your days.
