Since 1998, Diana has served as the Executive Director of the Danville Child Development Center (DCDC) in Danville, PA. I had the chance to interview her and hear more about the incredible work the DCDC provides for the community. The DCDC is “a community-based organization dedicated to giving children a strong foundation for lifelong success by providing supports to families and high quality early learning experiences in safe, nurturing and engaging environments.”
I asked Diana about how the DCDC communicates with the community. She emphasized that it is a “multi-pronged approach” and that the organization best communicates with their “strong social media presence on Facebook, LinkedIn, and their website that is updated constantly.” Additionally, through the community events and support from many businesses in Danville, the DCDC is able to provide lots of field trips, speakers, music, and more opportunities for the children.
There are many exciting opportunities & events coming up that the community can become involved with. There is scholarship money that is made available for families with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers thanks to the Educational Improvement Tax Program. Please reach out to the DCDC to learn more about this opportunity!
The DCDC’s fourth annual “Dueling Pianos” show will be at the Pine Barn on Friday, April 24thand is their biggest fundraising event of the year. From the sounds of it, it will be an event filled with music, comedy, and lots of family fun! Be sure to stay tuned by liking their Facebook page and keeping an eye out for more information.
